Cold Ashes Hot Ambers

Cold Ashes Hot Ambers

The wound had healed,

The ashes had cooled,

Thought I've forgotten the past,

Though time seemed to whiz by,

Life was stuck in pattern,

In drudgery of daily routine,

And I was happy

So I thought.

Your utterance jolted me,

The words like needle,

Pricked the scab,

Made the wound bleed,

Making me understand,

The meaning of vulnerability,

Yes I am vulnerable.

The ashes blew off,

With  each sigh of your's,

The ambers of past,

Became fire again,

Making me understand ,

Meaning of  being aflame,

Yes I am aflamed,

I am aglow with raging fire.

And it said,

Are you scared of your past,

Or scared of pain it caused,

You think of wound and ash,

What about time you laughed,

You danced with happiness,

You kissed tiny pink feet,

That your babies showed,

Lay onthe dark Beach,

Counting stars and waves,

So much happiness why be sad,

To you my dear I will say,

Go and find happiness

From the past.

Love yourself for who you are,

Love yourself for what you are,

Love yourself for what you were,

For this will make what you will be.

No needle can prick your wound,

No sigh can cause ashes to blow,

Upto you to,

Decide!!

You want to glow like sun,

Be cool like moon,

Fragrant like flower,

Or burn like ambers,

Hidden under the ashes

With sadness and gloom.

I opened my eyes,

Woke up from my reverie,

I found myself alone.

Who was speaking to me?

Was it a dream,

Or just my imagination.

Then came the soothing voice

I am your alter ego your other half ,

Hungry for your laughter and smile,

Get out of dreamland open your eyes,

I laughed out aloud my carefree laugh,

Understood what is happiness,

Yes I am happy.

I became busy in routine,

In daily drudgery,

Smiling away laughing loud,

With memories of past

And time kept flitting away,

With memory of past,
